Find out what’s going on! Here’s a list of dates and activities involving hillforts, clay and poetry. We’ll be adding to this as we go along, so please check back here.
Friday 14 July 2017 Celebration Party at Poles Coppice!
Everyone is very welcome to come and join us at Poles Coppice Picnic Site to celebrate the end of this wonderful project and the completed installation of the Oak Palisade and the Poetry Bench. Come along anytime between 4pm and 7pm.
You can pick up your original tile to take home with you, come and meet the artists involved. Listen to poetry readings, enjoy the view! Walk the new trail perhaps…
Light refreshments will be served.
Sat 25 February 2017 Community Walk & Workshops
Free community workshops in clay and poetry, plus a walk to explore the Iron Age landscape around Poles Coppice. The day will be led by ceramicist Ruth Gibson and poet Jean Atkin.
In the morning we’ll walk to Poles Coppice (sturdy footwear or wellies, and warm clothes), followed by both clay and poetry workshop sessions in Pontesbury Village Hall during the afternoon. You can come along to either the walk or the workshops, or both. We’d like you to bring with you, if you have them, any images or photos, words or lines about the hills. (But you don’t have to!).
Families welcome, but no unaccompanied children. To book your free place please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01938 561741 for enquiries.
We’ll also be working with groups of local schoolchildren, children’s out-of-school groups and home-educated children.
